# Screenshots & Recording

Take full-quality screenshots and screen recordings of your iPhone or iPad in one click.

Capture what's on your device for a bug report, a design review or a demo, straight from your Mac.

## 1. Screenshot

Click **Screenshot** in the toolbar, or press <kbd>⌘S</kbd>.

* The screenshot is saved to your **Desktop** as a PNG, named after the device with the date and time.
* It's also copied to your clipboard, ready to paste into Slack, an email or an issue.

{% hint style="info" %}
To copy the screen without saving a file, click the mirror and press <kbd>⌘C</kbd>.
{% endhint %}

## 2. Screen recording

1. Click **Record** in the toolbar, or press <kbd>⌥⌘R</kbd>. A timer shows how long you've been recording.
2. Click **Record** again, or press <kbd>⌥⌘R</kbd>, to stop.

The video is saved to **Movies → Device MCP**, and Finder opens to show it. The recording keeps going if the device reconnects.

## 3. With an AI agent

Your agent can take screenshots and start or stop a recording too, for example to show you what it tested. See [MCP](../ai-agents/mcp.md).
