Device MCP is built to keep your devices' contents on your Mac. This policy explains what Device MCP, this website and our license server handle, and why.

In the app

  • Local first. Mirroring, input, screenshots, recordings, builds and the MCP server run on your Mac. Screen contents, keystrokes and app lists never leave your Mac through Device MCP.
  • MCP server. It listens on your Mac only (127.0.0.1) and requires a per-installation token. Agents you connect receive the screenshots and data they request, under those agents' own privacy terms.
  • Licensing. When you activate or verify a license, Device MCP sends the license key, your Mac's name, an anonymous Mac identifier (a one-way hash of its hardware ID), and the Device MCP and macOS versions to our license server. We use them to count seats and to show your Macs in the License Manager.
  • Updates. Device MCP checks for updates with Sparkle. The request includes the app and macOS versions and, if you have a license, its activation credential, so we only offer versions your license covers. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
  • Diagnostics. "Export Diagnostics…" creates a local file that you choose whether to share. Nothing is sent automatically.

Purchases and the License Manager

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email address and what you bought, never your full card details.
  • Emails. We email your license keys, receipts for renewals and seats, and License Manager links you request. We don't send marketing email without your consent.
  • License Manager links expire after 7 days, a new one replaces the old, and we store them only as a one-way hash.

This website

The website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our servers keep access logs of the pages and API paths requested (not query strings or form contents) to keep the service secure.

Your choices

Remove a Mac from your license at any time in the License Manager. To access or delete your data, write to us from the address on your license.
