Control with Mouse & Keyboard
Use your Mac's mouse, trackpad and keyboard to tap, swipe, type and press buttons on your iPhone or iPad.
Your mouse becomes a finger, your trackpad does the gestures, and your Mac keyboard types into the device. You never need to pick up the phone.
1. Mouse and trackpad
| On your Mac | On the device |
|---|---|
| Click | Tap |
| Click and drag | Swipe |
| Double-click | Double tap |
| Click and hold, or right-click | Long press |
| Scroll wheel or two-finger scroll | Scroll |
| Pinch on the trackpad | Pinch to zoom |
| Drag up from the bottom edge | Go to the Home Screen |
A small dot shows where you touched, so it's easy to follow along in a demo or a recording.
2. Keyboard
Click the mirror, then type. Your keystrokes go to the device, including accents and special characters.
- Paste from your Mac: press ⌘V to type your Mac's clipboard into the device.
- Copy the screen: press ⌘C to copy the device screen as an image.
3. Type Text
For longer text, click Type Text on the right side of the window. Write or paste your text, then click Type. You can also click Paste from Mac to fill it from your clipboard.
4. Buttons and system controls
The toolbar at the bottom of the window has the controls you use most:
- Home and App Switcher
- Screenshot and Record. See Screenshots & Recording.
- Rotate
Click More Device Controls (…) for the rest:
- System: Control Center, Notification Center and Spotlight Search
- Buttons: Volume Up, Volume Down, Mute, Siri and Lock
You can also click the buttons on the device frame, or use the keyboard shortcuts.
5. Working with an AI agent
You and your AI agent can use the device at the same time. You're never locked out: when you click or type, your input goes through right away. While an agent is working, the status at the bottom of the window shows Agent is driving. See MCP.
