Mirror
See your iPhone or iPad live on your Mac, sharp and smooth, inside a model of the real device.
Device MCP shows your iPhone or iPad live on your Mac. Text stays sharp, motion stays smooth, and the picture sits inside a model of your actual device.
1. Start mirroring
- Plug in your device, or make sure it's on the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
- Click the device in the sidebar. Mirroring starts in about a second.
The status at the bottom of the window shows Live while the device is mirroring. To stop, right-click the device in the sidebar and choose Stop Mirroring. Click Start Mirroring to start again.
2. Device frame
Device MCP draws the real device around the mirror: its color, buttons, Dynamic Island or Home button.
- Click a button on the frame to press it, like Volume Up or the Side button. Hover over a button to see what it does and its shortcut.
- Hold the Side button to start Siri.
- Turn the frame on or off with View → Show Device Frame, or the Device Frame button on the right side of the window.
3. Zoom
Use the buttons on the right side of the window, or the View menu:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Zoom In / Zoom Out | Makes the device bigger or smaller. |
| Actual Size | Shows the device at its real size in points. |
| Zoom to Fit | Fits the whole device in the window. |
When you've zoomed in, scroll beside the device, or hold ⌘ while you scroll or drag, to move around.
4. Rotate
Click Rotate in the toolbar to switch between portrait and landscape. Open its menu to choose Portrait, Landscape Left, Landscape Right or Upside Down.
5. Reconnect
If the picture freezes, or another app took over the device, click More (…) → Reconnect or press ⇧⌘R.
